Why Iron Mountain

Verifiable where it counts

Four things that let a contractor spec our rock on a county job without a second test.

  1. WSDOT Source · Pit D-334

Approved for mineral aggregate through 06/04/2029 and riprap through 03/11/2027.

  2. On-site QC lab

Gradation and spec monitored lot to lot, so the rock is consistent load to load.

  3. Interactive dispatch

Get what you need, when you need it — deliveries timed to your crew.

  4. Locally owned since 1988

A privately held Granite Falls operation, not a regional corporate chain.

From blast to dispatch

How the rock gets to your truck

Ledge rock worked from the face to the scale house, one controlled step down the quarry at a time.

  1. An excavator working a raw rock ledge face in the quarry.

    Blast

    Shot from the ledge

Hard rock is drilled and shot from the benched faces of the Cascade foothills.

  2. A loaded haul truck on the quarry haul road, the Cascade peak beyond.

    Crush

    Run through the plant

Shot rock is hauled to the crushing plant and reduced to the working gradations.

  3. Crushing-plant conveyors grading aggregate into separate stockpiles.

    Grade

    Checked in the QC lab

The on-site lab runs gradation and spec checks so every lot meets its numbers.

  4. A large front-end loader filling a haul truck with crushed aggregate.

    Dispatch

    Loaded and sent

A loader fills your haul truck and dispatch times the delivery to your crew.

The scale of it

A working hard-rock quarry

Decades of ledge rock cut from the Cascade foothills above Granite Falls.

Stockpiles, crushing plant and haul roads laid out across the pit, with Pacific Northwest forest on every side.

In their words

Best rock, period

Absolutely the best rock period! I have used rock from several different quarries from Olympia to Lynden and there's no doubt IMQ has the best rock to spread, compact and it looks amazing!
